A rare, heavy waxed red crepe paper butterfly with gold painted edges. There is also a gold painted doll size clothes pin for the body and tiny wires for the antennae. There is also a wire for hanging in the tree. A sprinkling of mica is on the surface to give the butterfly a shimmery look. A similar example of these types of butterflies are in the book, "Christmas Ornaments, A Festive Study" by Margaret Schiffer. A fantastic piece in excellent condition.
